Minimum Requirements
- Each organization has a name for their Malayalam School.
- Schools have to follow a standard curriculum prepared by TMA specifically designed for each level. In addition to that, you are always welcome to use your own course materials to improve the students proficiency level.
- We are conducting a Two-day workshop for teachers once in a year, through the Department of Asian Studies, The University of Texas at Austin. Teachers should complete the training of this 6 hours credit certification.
Curriculum
Educate Malayalam Language, literature, and culture

Beginner Level
Up to 5th grade students should complete Script, Markers, and Basic Grammar. Speaking/basic conversations must be a part of each class curriculum. If the student is already mastered in the beginner level, the school can conduct a standard proficiency test to promote them to the next level.

Intermediate
Up to 6th-8th grade students will be in this level. Reading passages and discussions should be in the curriculum. Reading comprehension, composition on given topics, and translation passages will be in the curriculum. Students goal is to receive considerable exposure to Kerala culture including important places, traditions, histories, practices, etc. If the student is already mastered in the beginner and intermediate level, the school can conduct a standard proficiency test to promote them to the next level.

Advanced Level
Above 8th grade students will be in this level. AMA will conduct an exam at this level and will provide certificates for the students who pass the exam. The certificates are attested by the Department of Asian Studies, UT-Austin.
Our Mission
- Our mission is to guide and support Malayalam heritage families and the people who are interested to know about Malayalam language and culture. To build and preserve Kerala culture to the future generations is part of our program.
- Prepare students to get ready to take Credit-by-Exam (CBE) tests which are available through UT High SchoolHigh School students anywhere in Texas can receive credits towards their diploma through CBE tests.
- Prepare students to take the Malayalam Placement Exam which is conducted by the Department of Asian Studies, The University of Texas at Austin.
